About the BASTERSKLOOF

The Basterskloof is a small privately owned family farm. The farm is named after the "Basterskloof river" that forfills the very important purpose of sustaining life on the farm. The farm is still in its growing phase, but over the last 30 years a lot has been established. The farm produces apples, olives, almonds and Persian sheep. All these products are home grown and processed on the farm. We have a variety of products available in season. Apple cider vinegar, olive oil, a variety of jams and pickles and nuts. Make sure to inquire about these products should you be interested to purchase some on your next visit to us!

The horse stud is run as a separate entity on the farm and viewing can be arranged to learn more about the rare spotted Knabstrupper and Appaloosa horse breeds. Only 1300 Knabstruppers are registered in the world and the farm produces about 4 foals a year. www.knabstrupper.co.za or www.appaloosastud.co.za
